Holiday Inn Resort Bali Nusa Dua has taken the opportunity of giving backthis September to the local communities and the environment by participating in the Giving for Good program.
The program kicked off on September 8 2023 by participating at a Coral Reef planting in Lipah Beach, Karangasem. At the same time the Resort launched the One Dollar One Night program which aims to support the coral garden project by Bali Blue Harmony Foundation, Bali Bersama Bisa Mental Healthcare organization, to create a safe space for marginalized communities and a Traineeship Program, aiming to support students with their yearly school fees.
On September 15, the resort held a donation and knowledge-sharing event to support students with different needs in SLBN 2 Denpasar. This event’s goal is to provide an opportunity for the students to showcase their new skills, interact with resort staff, and raise awareness about disability inclusion in the hospitality industry. This project continues through the year.
On September 16, a coastal clean-up at Tanjung Benoa Beach, was conducted by team members of the resort to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our oceans clean and free of waste.
On September 19, the resort held the Little Big Hotelier program for the second round this year inviting a local elementary school, SD 7 Benoa. The Little Big Hotelier program offers kids the opportunity to see the inner workings of the resort as they take up roles in key departments, learning new skills that can be taken back home, while they have fun with other children. The practical activities included, folding towels in the shapes of animals, making pizza and preparing mocktails. The hotel plans to roll this one more time before the end of the year.
On September 22, the resort donated proceeds from their “Stay and Donate” program. This initiative was created to support Bali Pink Ribbon Foundation geared to assist breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. Guests can stay at the Pink room and a percentage of the paid rate gets donated to the foundation. This is also a year round initiative.
On September 27, in collaboration with the Lengis Hijau Foundation. Resort staff and volunteers participated in sharing knowledge regarding sustainable activities with the repurposing of used cooking oil. Leftover cooked oil is donated and turned into biodiesel.
On September 29, for the closing of Giving for Good, the resort collaborated with Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Bali at YPAC Nusa Dua (Foundation of Children with special need) to donate food for those in need. On the same day an agreement was signed between the Resort and SOS to continue working together thru the year.
